Finding the balance slowly but surely....

2 things to start: 1- yes, I change my template all the time :) What can I say, I get bored easily. and 2- I am no longer posting days in maintenance. So for anyone new, I am 70+ days into lifetime maintenance.

So, this week I have been trying to achieve some balance when it came to calorie counting and getting too obsessive. I did a sort of test and just went by the mirror and how I felt. I did what I usually do, but did not count calories or pre plan every days meals. I had a free weekend, and then did a steak day yesterday. I got on the scale today and guessed what my weight would be based on past experience. I was .4 under that :) In a nutshell, I am the same weight I always am at this point wether I am a calorie counting freak or not! Freedom :) I found that by not counting calories, I was a little more careful naturally.

I am still trying to get my weekends under control :) But, they have been so much fun! The last 2 saturdays went a little like this:

Get up and put in 3 miles around the lake with hubby.
French toast at Kneaders :)
Lay by the pool for 2 hours...... ahhhh....
Split a JCW hawaiian burger, cheese fries, and banana split with the hubby.
1 on 1 volleyball for about an hour.
Go to the movies, and have glazed nuts, popcorn and red vines.
Hottub!
TV and creme brulee cupcakes from the sweet tooth fairy :)

I mean really, does it get better than that?? I would like to say I never have sweets or indulge too much, but then again, I am not sure I really want too... ;)

  1. I LOVE your changing template! I also think it's terrific you dropped the lifetime maintenance number - no need! I will do the same as soon as I'm out of P3 since I've reached my weight goals.

On my collage, I have the words "Indulge every day". I was actually really thinking about that the other day and realized that is what it is all about - achieving balance also means indulging every day - just the right amount! :) For people like us who have struggled to get here, learning the balance part can be such a challenge but you know what? If we can do what we've done, we can do ANYTHING.

    You rock, m'dear.

  3. I love that you take such a comprehensive approach to maintenance. You think of the smallest detail and figure out how to make it work for you. Its no wonder your maintenance has (& will continue to be) so successful!

I love your new background! And I like that they change- I always have something to look forward to, when I come to visit your page!

  4. I love your new template. It's easy to change so why not go for it?!

You sound so relax and in control. I'm envious of that fact! Keep it up! I'm hoping to reach the same point.
